Toni Todd FAQ's

The FAQ's...

When should I Book my Hair & Makeup Artist?

ASAP! Bridal hair and makeup artist's get booked up very quickly,  often years in advance, so as soon as you’ve confirmed your date with your venue and registrar, it’s a great idea to book then, especially if there is a particular artist you have your eye on, you don't want to feel disappointed that they are already booked up on your date.

How Soon Can I Have My Trial?

My recommendation is no earlier than a month or two before your big day. As you will find, through your journey of wedding planning, that the process is constantly evolving, often this process leads to changing ideas and seasonal trends. I often find brides have a better idea of what they’d like closer to their special day as more and more details , if the trial is carried out too far away, brides often require a second trial closer to the time

Will You Come To The Venue on The Wedding Day?

Yes! I believe that all the running round on your wedding day should be left to everyone else - not to you! This is your big day and it should start in a calm and relaxed manner. By having me come to you on your big day allows you to stay in and avoid and rushing around. No getting stuck in traffic on your journey to or from a salon or a sudden down pour after you've had your hair and makeup done.

I Have Lots of Bridesmaids, Will There be Enough Time to Get Everyone Ready?

Of Course! I always ensure that I arrive in good time on the morning of the wedding, to greet everyone and set up my equipment before we start the morning preparations. I always allocate enough time for each person, if you have a particularly large bridal party or have an early ceremony time, I can always organise an additional assistant to help get everyone ready in good time. I also will send you a schedule in advance to help the morning run smoothly and on time.

What Happens if I Cant Get into the Venue Until Late Morning?

This will depend on the size of your bridal party and your ceremony time, but in most cases I will provide a "split" wedding prep. This is where I will come to your hotel or home to provide the first stage of the morning preparations, then pack up and head over to the venue at our earliest convenience

What Happens at the Trial?

I will either come to you at your home or you can come to my home studio in Littlehampton. We will sit down and have an in-depth consultation, talking through all of your ideas and looks that you like. I always recommend creating a pinterest board to store all of your ideas, so that you can have these to hand at the trial. I will work with you to create the perfect wedding day look. At this point I will discuss and organise timings for the big day, including your bridal parties hair/makeup requirements. At this time I will also take notes of all the products used and take pictures along the way as reference, this way you can guarantee you will receive the exact same look on your wedding day.

Can I Have My Trial on a Friday or Saturday Morning?

No, due to high demand Friday and Saturday Mornings are reserved exclusively for wedding bookings only, however I do book trials from 3pm on Saturday afternoons. Saturday afternoons are highly desirable and do get booked up extremely quickly.

I have plenty of availability  for Hair and Makeup trials mid week , please note - due to family commitments I do  not carry out trials in the evenings or on Sundays.

How Long will the Trial Take?

Please allow 2-3 1\2 hours for your hair and makeup trial, this is enough time to ensure you are completely happy and have found the right look for your big day.

Do You Travel Out For Wedding Trials?

Yes! I am primarily freelance  based. I like to provide my clients with a relaxing and enjoyable service and feel that working from the comfort of your own home allows me to do this. I often find that brides like to have family and friends present at the trial, often with a celebratory glass of fizz, so if it's the best place for you, it's the best place for me.

Although, sometime's Brides like to get away from distractions of the home and family life for their trial, and if this sounds like you - I do have a professional studio space within my home where you and one other person are more than welcome to escape the bedlam at home, by coming to me at my studio based in Littlehampton.

What Makeup Brands Do You Use?

My makeup kit has been carefully selected throughout my career and contains premium makeup brands. I use a variety,  such as MAC, Urban Decay, Airbase Airbrush, Temptu Airbrush, Illamasqua, Kryolan, Crown, NARS, Face2Face, and a selection of high street brands too.

How Long Will my Hair & Makeup Take?

Hair & Makeup takes roughly 90 mins per person, or 45 minutes per person per service, this sometimes varies according to the complexity of the chosen look.
